11th IAGA Scientific Assembly – IAGA 2009
EXHIBITION, SPONSORSHIP & ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES INVITATION

The schedule of the 11th Scientific Assembly is as follows. August 23 (Sunday): registration and installation day, August 24-29 (Monday-Saturday): six full working days, August 30 (Sunday): field trip and departure day.

IAGA is the member association of International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG). It holds its scientific assemblies in every fourth year (10th: Toulouse 2005, 9th: Hanoi 2001, 8th: Uppsala 1997, 7th: Buenos Aires 1993, etc.), halving the four-year internal between IUGG general assemblies (24th: Perugia 2007, 23th: Sapporo 2003, 22th: Birmingham 1999, 21th: Boulder 1995, etc.). IAGA is far the largest component of IUGG. Instead of former two-weeks long IAGA scientific assemblies (held usually in the middle of summer), in Sopron we shall have a one-week long assembly to be held in the end of Summer. Therefore, and due the easy access to Sopron, we expect about one thousand participants from about 60 countries. Central and Eastern Europe are expected to be especially well represented.

The Assembly will be held in the newly forming “Sopron Downtown Convention District”.

Your organization’s support will be acknowledged in all printed materials and signage at the following levels:

Total contributions include grants for all sponsorship, exhibitor, and advertisement opportunities listed on the following pages. Your organization will be classified according to the scale of the total services ordered.

All prices regarding exhibition and sponsorship include 20 % V.A.T.

DELEGATE SUPPORT

1. Assembly Bags. Your organization is invited be the exclusive sponsor of the Assembly Bags, which contain the Program and Abstract Book and are provided to all delegates upon registration. The sponsorship will include the following benefits: the sponsor name and logo silk screened or embroidered on the outside front cover of each bag; acknowledgement in all printed assembly materials; acknowledgement on signage prominently displayed at the assembly registration area; option to include one promotional piece in the delegate bags (limited to one, single-page, double-sided insert provided at the cost of the sponsor) or one full page advertisement in the Program Book; priority choice of exhibition space; two complimentary delegate registrations. Rate 10,000 €

2. Delegate Notepaper and Pens. Notepaper and pens printed with your company logo will be included in the Assembly Bags provided to each registrant at the Assembly. The sponsorship will include the following benefits: sponsor logo printed on the notepad and pens, acknowledgement in all printed assembly materials; acknowledgement on signage prominently displayed at the assembly registration area; option to include on promotional piece in the delegate bags (limited to one, single-page, double-sided insert provided at the cost of the sponsor); priority choice of exhibition space; one complimentary delegate registration. Rate 5,000 €

3. Delegate Name Badges and Lanyards. Your organization is invited to be the exclusive sponsor of the name badges and lanyards/neck cords. All delegates will be provided with a badge printed with the Assembly logo and your corporate logo (to be provided by the Assembly Secretariat), and a lanyard printed with your corporate logo (to be provided by the sponsor). Participants must wear their name badge throughout the Assembly and official events. The sponsorship sill include the following benefits: sponsor logo/name printed on the front of the name badges; acknowledgement in all printed assembly materials; acknowledgement on signage prominently displayed at the assembly registration area; option to include on promotional piece in the delegate bags (limited to one, single-page, double-sided insert provided at the cost of the sponsor) or one full-colour page advertisement in the Program Book; priority choice of exhibition space; two complimentary delegate registrations. Rate 4,000 €

4. Internet Centre. Your organization is invited to sponsor the Assembly Internet Centre, a multi-station computer centre networked with internet, e-mail and printer access for delegate use. The sponsorship will include the following benefits: the sponsor’s logo featured on the desktop and screen saver of each computer and the sponsor’s corporate website set as the default home-page for the web browser; acknowledgement in all printer assembly materials including the Final Program; acknowledgement on signage prominently displayed at the assembly registration area; acknowledgement on signage prominently displayed at the internet centre; option to include one promotional piece in the IAGA2009 delegate bags (limited to one, single-page, double-sided insert provided at the cost of the sponsor); priority choice of exhibition space; one (1) complimentary assembly registration. Rate 5,000 €

5. Young scientist support. We invite you to contribute to the fund to support young scientists’ participation at the IAGA Assembly. Estimated cost components: approximate student registration fee: 250 EUR, student hostel: 150 EUR for 7 nights, travel support: 500 EUR in average, per diem: 100 EUR. It makes a total sum of appr. 1000 euro/young scientist. You may support n (n = 1, 2, 3…) young scientists in this way. The sponsorship will include the following benefits: acknowledgement in are printed assembly materials, acknowledgement on signage prominently displayed at the registration area; option to include one promotional piece in the IAGA2009 delegate bags (limited to one, single-page, double-sided insert provided at the cost of the sponsor). SOCIAL PROGRAM SUPPORT

1. Coffee Break. We invite your organization to join the assembly in providing assembly delegates with coffee, tea and soft drinks during an assembly break. The sponsorship will include the following benefits: acknowledgement in all printed assembly materials; acknowledgement on signage prominently displayed at the assembly registration area; acknowledgement on signage prominently displayed at the break. Rate 3,000 €/coffee break

2. Welcome Reception. Your organization is invited to sponsor the highly popular and coffee break well-attended Welcome Reception to be held on the evening of August 24 (Monday) 2009. The reception will include cultural programme, snack and wine. The sponsorship will include the following benefits: acknowledgement on the event tickets and event signage; acknowledgement in all printed assembly materials including the Program Book; acknowledgement on signage prominently displayed at the assembly registration area; option to include one promotional piece in the delegate bags (limited to one, single-page, double-sided insert provided at the cost of the sponsor); priority choice of exhibition space; two complimentary assembly registrations. Four extra tickets to the Opening Ceremony and to the Welcome Reception. Rate 5,000 €

3. Cultural events during the week. Your organization is invited to sponsor one of the cultural events during the week of the Assembly. The sponsorship will include the following benefits: acknowledgement on the event signage; acknowledgement in all printed assembly materials including the Program Book; acknowledgement on signage prominently displayed at the assembly registration area; option to include one promotional piece in the delegate bags (limited to one, single-page, double-sided insert provided at the cost of the sponsor); priority choice of exhibition space; two (3a) or one (3b) complimentary assembly registrations. Cultural events during the week may be supported in two categories: 3a. Cultural events with world-famous Hungarian solists or ensembles, e.g. Márta Sebestyén (www.sebestyenmarta.hu), Muzsikás Hungarian Folkmusic Ensemble (www.muzsikas.hu; one of its musicians, Dániel Hamar is an IAGA-related geophysicist!), Hungarian State Folk Ensemble, Rajkó Orchestra (www.rajko.hu), Experidance (www.experidance.hu), Budapest Gipsy Symphony Orchestra (Orchestre des 100 violons Tsiganes, www.100tagu.hu), etc. Rate 4,000-8,000 € 3b.

Cultural events by local solists or ensembles, e.g. Tamás Szekendy organist (Liszt concert), Fidelissima Mixed Choir (Hungarian choral musics), www.fidelissima.hu), Pendelyes Folk Dance Ensemble, Sopron Symphonic Orchestra (Kodály- and Bartók concert), Dancing parties by the Ürmös Dance Ensemble, etc. Rate 1,000-2,000 €

ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES 1. Advertising in Program Book. You are invited to advertise the services or products of your organization in the Program Book, a book containing all program information and scheduling. The Book will be provided with the registration packages to all assembly delegates. The size of the book is B/5 standard.

2. Advertising Insert in the Delegate Bag. You are invited to include an advertising insert in the delegate bags provided to each assembly attendee upon registration. Each advertiser is entitled to include in the delegate bags one, single-page, double-sided insert provided at the cost of the advertiser. Per Insert 500 €
